Wanton Mee needs no introduction – who isn’t familiar with this holy trinity of chewy egg noodles, savoury char siew and wholesome dumplings?

 

Kei Suk Wantan Mee
One of the best wantan mee I’ve ever had! Their wantan mee is prepared by 80+ years old uncle who has been doing it for 40+ years and still be able to maintain the quality of his wantan mee! Their wanton noodles is springy and their char siew is really good! It’s also topped with minced meat and pork lards. Indeed my favorite spot to fix my wantan mee cravings.

Pudu Pasar Wanton Mee
One of my favorite spots for wanton mee which is hidden in the wet market of Pudu. It’s very sinful as it is topped with lots of fried pork lard and the sauce tends to be on the oily side. Their melt-in-the-mouth char siew is irresistibly good too!

Sg Besi Wan Tan Mee
This is one of the great stalls to get a decent plate of wanton mee. The sauce tends to be on the sweeter side. Don’t forget to try out their dried shrimp sambal chili.

Yulek Wan Tan Mee
Springy wanton mee with savory char siew. Portion is really big and the sauce they use for their wanton mee is not too greasy.

Lam Kee Wanton Noodles

This place is well known for their char siew pork ribs. The stall is quite small but their wanton noodles is really springy and the sauce goes really well with the noodles.

This shop is located next to Raja Chulan Hotel. The owner who runs the business, makes everything himself – from noodles to wantons to char siew. However, the price is on the high side.

Surprisingly there are quite a good food stalls here and beers are pretty cheap here! Wanton noodles with glass char siew is a must try here! Steamed tilapia with ginger from another stall is surprisingly good too!

Noodles was alright and the Char Siew has the melt-in-my-mouth texture. As you can see from the picture, the sauce was a lil too much which makes the entire dish a lil too wet.

A very special fish by adding wanton mee into tilapia fish cooking. It is surprisingly tasty and I finished it to the last bit. The wanton mee was deliciously tangy too!

Ming Kee Restaurant is one of the recognised and renowned neighbourhood wanton noodle stall. Springy noodles coated with mildly flavoured sauce and the thin slices of pork were passable.

YK Noodle Restaurant serves homemade noodles that is made of chicken eggs and duck eggs. The char siew itself is sliced rather thinly and is all little bit on the dry side. The fried wantons were quite good.
