Mount Fuji is a symbol of Japan. Mount Fuji is Japan’s tallest mountain and it looks better from afar than from close up. It’s an active volcano and its peak is white capped!

Lake Kawaguchi

Koraku Onyado Fujiginkei Hotel

Amazing Mt Fuji view from Hotel! It’s best to visit Mount Fuji on a clear winter day!

There’s also an outdoor public bath on the rooftop with view of Mount Fuji. Beautiful outdoor onsen overlooking Mount Fuji.

San Lu Yuan

It was a great experience to grill my own food on proper old fashioned grill with coal.

The building and atmosphere is authentic. It’s a 150 years old farmhouse you can walk around and it’s like a mini museum.

For me, winter is always the best time to eat ice cream! The cold never bother me anyway! You’ll see a lot of pop up stores selling ice cream in the town. Don’t forget to try lavender ice cream!

In the mean time, I was content to savour the scenic views around the town.

If you’re staying a night at Lake Kawaguchi, you might need to prepare some snacks or cup noodles as the nearby restaurants close quite early.
