There always seems to be surprises waiting for us at this cafe-dense area, Damansara Uptown. Recently, a cafe named Bacon & Brews has opened its door here and been attracting many patrons to pay a visit. What attracts the crowd is the beautifully decorated well-lit cafe and the gorgeous plating of dishes.

Fat Rice (RM18.90)
Asian style japanese rice infused with aromatic pork lard sauce, accompanied by sous vide chicken roulade with bacon, finished off with onsen tamale, crispy fry shallot, and some soy sauce. The rice has a rich and dense flavour. It would certainly do better with a fried egg instead of a poached egg that is way too heavy to go with the already dense rice. On the other hand, i find the chicken roulade too dry and overcooked.

Teriyaki Ribs (RM28.90)
Baby back ribs sous vide for 8 hours then glazed and torched with special apple infused teriyaki sauce, accompanied by caramelised pineapple and garlic mash. Baby back ribs was cooked well and could be easily removed from the bone. Despite that the teriyaki sauce has too much liquid in it, the flavour was spot on.
